"Take what you need. Share what you can cheerfully give." This is the open pantry's simple advice to our community members of barangay Pantal, Dagupan City Pangasinan Philippines as inspired by Maginhawa community pantry and MCGI free store.
Seeing my neighbors who are not able to provide even the most basic needs of their family due to unemployment brought by this pandemic, it made me decide to organize our own community pantry.
More and more people are lining up hoping to get some from the pantry just to survive another day of hunger and despair.
I was able to get help from other concerned locals but as days go by, our finances are already stretched. I am knocking on your good hearts to help raise funds in order to continue and sustain this program.
Every cent makes a difference and prayer makes a miracle!
Two locals donated 100 pcs of eggs and 50 packs (10 pcs per pack) of misua noodles which were distributed to our community pantry today together with vegetables and breads. Your donations have come a long way and we appreciate every cent we receive!
With God's grace, we are hopeful even in our darkest days!
Today, we gave face masks and face shields to our community members in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We also want our neighborhood to strictly follow our country's minimum health protocols. With discipline and proper hygiene, we will be able to stop this pandemic soon!
Also, our volunteer dog Coco helped out by reminding everyone to wear face masks and face shield and observe social distancing. Thank you Coco! Thank you also to all our backers who never hesitated to support this cause! May God bless you and your family!
Today, our community pantry offered 50 packs of rice, canned goods, and vegetables. Our community members followed the health protocols by observing social distancing and hand disinfection. Tomorrow, 4/27, will be our 6th day and I'll be posting more information soon. Thank you again to our backers and we hope more donors will be able to share their blessings to our small community pantry!
Because of your generosity, our pantry was able to offer 50 packs of noodles, vegetables, and bread today. We also provided disinfecting stations and implemented social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We will resume the distribution of food and essential goods on Monday, 4/26 to give us more time to prepare and refill the pantry. Thank you so much to our new backers! We will regularly update this page and make sure all funds go to everyone who are in need.
Today, fruits like apples, mangoes, and bananas were given to our community members. The smiles of the people are sweeter than any of these fruits!Thank you to our backers for letting us continue this service for 8 days already!…
