Community Mentorship for Girls

Community Mentorship Programs for Girls is designed to offer training and mentorship opportunities for underprivileged girls in local public primary and secondary schools on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights which includes key critical issues namely: adolescents, abortion,HIV, gender-based violence, gender stereotyping, child forced marriage and menstrual hygiene Education.

We also support girls with essentials such as Sanitary pads,soap,pants etc. to ensure are kept in school.Our main aim is to reduced early pregnancies among adolescents, school drop out and sex for pad culture.

In Kenya since 1964,there are over 45 million people in Kenya—and every one of them has a right to sexual and reproductive health care. Yet millions lack the services they need. 78,000 people in Kenya became newly infected with HIV in 2015. Nearly 25% were adolescents.

Gender inequality and discrimination against girls mean they are often robbed of the right to make their own life decisions - from what happens to their bodies, to when and to whom they marry.

Teenage pregnancy can rob girls of their potential by ceasing their education and giving them adult responsibilities. An estimated 18 million adolescent girls give birth every year.

Ensuring girls’ and young women realize their right to sexual and reproductive health and have control over their lives and bodies are critical to achieving gender equality especially during this trying time of Covid-19.
