Comfort Widows and Aged Citizens

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters.

As part of our on-going campaign to reduce the prevalence of poverty in our rural community in Minna, Nigeria; we have been running several initiatives to raise funds to ensure that we continue helping our community in the best possible way. The levels of poverty among widows in Nigeria are so enormous that it leads to devastating living conditions to especially women and their children.

Many has lost their lives to this raging level of poverty and poor living condition as in the case of Fatima Baba who loose her life fighting to live after losing her husband. This sad event devastated the family and made our organization intensify efforts to reduce poverty among widows in our rural communities. The strategy we used for our intensified campaign was there – training by skills acquisition and empowering widows. We had previously trained and empowered fifty families in two communities and our joy knows no bound when we see the positive impact on the community and the lives of the beneficiaries. Help fund a livelihood program to improve the lives of underprivileged, vulnerable widows and aged citizens of Minna, Nigeria.

This skill acquisition and empowerment conscious program aims to train and equip 120 widows in five communities with the tools and skillset to be independent and alleviate poverty thereby building better lives for themselves and their children.

This initiative will simultaneously provide the community with a livelihood opportunity and reduce poverty among the widows and improve living conditions for the aged citizens.
