Dear Generous People of the Internet, My name is Jacob Sumpter and I plan on attending the University of Georgia in the fall. Even though I have been accepted, I am currently having a major issue with the cost of attending this amazing university. I wasn't able to receive any scholarships from the university and FAFSA exclaimed that my parent's made "too much money" for me to receive any assistance from the government. Due to mistakes in parent's lives, my family will not be able to contribute near the amount the university has specified and I am honestly scared. Scared that I will become plagued by the eternal sickness that student loans appear to be. I am a student who is constantly involved in the community by being apart of the Red Cross, Youth Leadership, Youth Bowling League of Fort Gordon, and local advisory councils. In my lifetime of bowling, I have become Augusta City Champion twice and the State Doubles Champion last year. I also volunteer at the Golden Harvest, Humane Society, Master City Little League, Broad Street Ministries and local 5ks. Through my highschool career, I have been apart of High School Student Council (Senior Class president), National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Science Club, Ultimate Frisbee Club, Improv Troupe and created a garden with a greenhouse for my school. I am student who isn't afraid to work hard to achieve my goals and is just looking for help so that my future can be better for myself and future family. Please donate so that I can survive after college.
