UC Davis college loan repayment

The monies will go to repaying my sons college loan for his 4yr degree, which he completed.

We have had several set backs since our sons graduation, making it very difficult to repay. Loss of job, loss of house, and caring for my in-laws. I found a job in Spokane, and brought my mother-in-law with us, who passed away in hospice in April. We cared for her at home. My wife and I took care of her. Our son is repaying his portion, but we are still regaining our lifes. I down sized my vehicle, sold all my stocks and cashed out my 401K to stay in a home with our Mom. Now we would like to retrun to the San Francisco bay area, and would like to remove some of our mounitng debt, the student loans being the largest. It is nearly $65k with interest. I am 60 now, and would love to have a chance to keep my wife healthy from worry over this debt. I can repay it in 25 years at about $500 a month, which I cannot afford. I'm a vietnam vet and would appreciate the extra help.
