Friends and family,
I came up against an unexpected financial wall a couple weeks ago when the financial aid office revised my aid package. I'm coming up signifigantly short on funds for the Spring 2015 semester.
Now I've got a good job with the fine fellows at Cota Technologies in Orono, and I'm working on scholarships for the coming academic year (Fall/Spring 2015/2016), but it seems that scholarships are not something that will come soon enough to help me, nor can I earn the money quickly enough and still realistically apply myself to my studies. If I dropped out for a semester to simply work, I would be delaying graduation another 12-18 months due to the way some of the courses run in multi-semester sequences and are only offered in certain semesters...so this isn't really a solution either.
I'm trying a few other things, but in the meantime I thought I'd try a crowdfunding solution for at least part of what I need to get through. If I reach my arbitrary $10,000 goal here, I'll think of something awesome to do for all who've helped me out.
