I am a 17 year old high school graduate. I was born in Los Reyes De Juarez, a poor village in mexico. At the age of four I was brought into the United States of America, raised in the land of freedom and opportunity. I love this land that I call home, but recently it hasn't shown the same affection in return. My parents were deported on December 13, 2011. I have managed to get a governemt Issued work permit so that I can support myself and parents back in Mexico. I love school and have always wanted to become something more than just another construction worker or McDonalds cashier. I have been accepted into Georgia State University. its my dream school but money has become a huge barrier, I can't apply for student loans, any federal aid is closed to me, scholarships are almost nonexistent because of my legal status in the US, georgia law won't let me claim in state tutition, and I can't pay for school myself on a twelve thousand dollar salary. my parents have given up their lives for me to finish school. I am working as hard as I can, all I ask is for a little help, any help small or big. Please and thank you.
