Coding with Patience

You can support a club of computer science, with a pheonomenal growth. More than 200 talented kids come to learn programming. There are a lot of topics covered by me and my guests, like C/C++ programming, algorithms and data structures, artificial intelligence, web applications development , computer graphics, databases, developing games in Python, Unity 3D, learning programming basics in Scratch etc. I started this charity and educational activity on my own, with 2500 EUR, meaning all my savings. The budget is only used for accommodation, meals, and transport of guests to Bacau. There are no costs for the lessons or for renting the spaces needed to give classes.

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you on behalf of a group of more than 200 students (8 to 18 y.o.), member of a club of computer science, called Coding with patience (Romanian: Programare cu rabdare), from Bacau, Romania.

My name is Bogdan Patrut, PhD, and I am senior lecturer in Computer Science at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. Finding out that in our hometown, Bacau, there are a lot of young students who want to study programming, but lack opportunities, I started to organize lessons/classes of programming and computer science for high-school students, free of charge.

Since November 2018, the number of students engaged in these classes increased, more than 200 kids currently attending the free courses.

I have been inviting many big names in education to teach the students. Among them we count Szabo Zoltan, Adrian Panaete, Marius Nicoli - the teachers who prepare the best students who participated in the International Olympiad in Informatics -, Tamio-Vesa Nakajima and Vlad Dascalu, former international laureates, and also a lot of people who worked for a while in companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon a.o.

Our club of computer science, called ”Coding with patience” has been registering phenomenal growth. Now, more than 200 talented kids come to learn programming. There are a lot of topics covered by me and my guests, like C/C++ programming, algorithms and data structures, artificial intelligence, web applications development , computer graphics, databases, developing games in Python, Unity 3D, learning programming basics in Scratch etc.

I have always been involved in charities and volunteering. Now, I am coming to you for support in my endeavour to help this kids activities, which is a long term investment. These kids will become for sure great computer scientists or researchers.

With only the price of a juice or a burger (3-5 EUR), you can help our club with the money to continue this activity for the next months of 2019.
