Cochlear Implant for Arki

Arkiesha was born on December 22 2018. She failed her hearing test when she was a day old and was referred. We tried to repeat the test but she failed again so the doctor told me to let her have the ABR (Auditory Brainstem Response) test and it says that she has severe to profound hearing loss on both ears. I was devastated when I see the result so I went back to her pediatrician and she referred me to pedia ENT to check her and the doctor made some procedure and let me do some of the tests for us to determine why she has lost her hearing. All the tests are good but the ASSR(Auditory Steady State Response) shows that she has profound hearing loss. I went back to the ENT specialist and told me that she was a good candidate for cochlear implantation, and after hearing that breaks my heart since it was too expensive and my baby will undergo surgery. He told me that one ear will range 1 Million.

But being positive and the help of the Lord, I know this procedure will help her access to sound and to which will provide her with the only chance of age appropriate speech-language development. As a mother, it breaks my heart to see my daughter not being able to hear even if I call her, but just like any other parent we want our little baby to hear and speak, I love you mommy.
