Climbing to Freedom – Women of sexual/physical assault reclaiming empowerment through climbing

South Africa has theHIGHEST rate of rape in the world. 132.4 incidents per 100 000 people. Approximately 1/4 men surveyed admitted to committing rape. Many woman who experience sexual violence rarely report or come forward about their incidences which deeply saddens me when we look at the figures of reported cases in South Africa.

Enough is enough!

We want to help these beautiful souls that have gone through such heart retching experiences to heal, to love themselves again and to RECLAIM their empowerment.

Climbing to Freedom is a programme dedicated to providing sexually and physically abused women in the community a gateway to personal empowerment through rock climbing and meditation practices.

We strive to create an environment of trust, teamwork and communication. To facilitate a beautiful moment for these women where breakthroughs are possible guided by yoga, climbing and meditation.

Our programme has its official launch date in January 2020 and we are in the process of building up the required gear to facilitate this healing and empowering experience.

We are in need of rope, climbing shoes, quick draws etc before the launch date and will require continual financing to help us keep this program going on a continual basis.
