Climbing mount Khan Tengri

The present campaign has the goal of raising funds for supporting two mountain climbers from my hometown mountaineering club "Hemus Adventure", in their effort to climb the notorious peak of Khan Tengri, rising at 7010 meters. Part of the Thian Shan mountain range, that stretches on the territories in China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, it is credited as one of the most beautiful mountains in world. Also known for its difficult northern route and the small rate of successful expeditions Khan Tengri is a proper challenge to everyone daring to test himself on its slopes.

With strong winds and temperatures hitting -40 degrees and beyond, there can be no compromises on technical equipment, physical conditioning or personal skills. Therefore all the money collected here will be used strictly on gear for the expedition. Special high altitude boots and clothing are a must in such harsh environment and can literally make the difference between life and death for the climbers.

The departure date is set for the 18th of July and for that reason the campaign has a limited duration until the 10th. The adventure will last for three and a half weeks, living at a base camp at 4000 meters and climbing above.

Me in personal as well as the two climbers will be deeply grateful for the support and will try to return the favor in some way possible. Since in our club, we are all into mountaineering and outdoor sports we can provide different types of adventures, advises or any other help needed.
