Climbing for a Reason is a non-profit project that seeks in different parts of the world to turn local low-income people into climbers of their own rocks.

To achieve this, Climbing for a Reason carries out the construction of an artificial wall in a school or public place in these towns, the creation of a rock climbing area, initiation and safety workshops for climbing on the artificial wall / natural rock and in turn, he makes the donation of all the necessary equipment for the future practice of the community.

Climbing for a reason joins again to carry out a tremendous project in Pakistan, this time in Shigar Valley, a project that will be carried out in honor of the Chilean mountaineer Juan Pablo Mohr ( Founder of Fundación deporte Libre ) who in February of this year, died while trying to climb the winter K2 without oxygen. supplementary.

Naila Yasmeen, our organization member in Pakistan said to us that It was a big effort specially for her to recruit the children „One of the main focuses of this project it will be the training of the girls.l“. And therefore we are really proud that the people made it possible for us to work also with a lot of girls, as this was not so easy according to Muslim guidelines.

„The kids, girls and boys, are coming daily to my house asking when the team is coming. Their joy is big and they can’t wait the moment“, said Naila Yasmeen.

One of the projects that the mountaineer had in mind to carry out after descending from K2, was the realization of said project in this town in Pakistan whit his Fundacion Deporte Libre in conjunction with Climbing for a Reason as he did in Nepal two years before under the focus of the project "Under the Big Mountain".
