PLEASE DONATE TO SOS CLEAN WATER to build a water well in Kabadougou in honor of Madoussou's memory. SOS CLEAN WATER grew out of a deeply personal experience. A few years ago, Mamadou Berte, SOS CLEAN WATER's founder, went to Fimana, a remote village near Seguela in the worodougou department in Cote d'Ivoire, to visit his childhood friend. As Mamadou arrived at the village, Madoussou Bakayoko, the young and pregnant sister in law of Mamadou's friend, left for the stream, about a mile away through the bush to get water. On her way back, Madoussou thought she had stepped on a pine, but she kept going in an effort to return to the village before dark. Unfortunately, she had been bitten by a snake. By the time she got to the village, it was too late to save her life. She died that evening. A year later, Mamadou and his wife combined their tax returns with their savings and returned to Fimana to build a water well fitted with a hand pump to honor Madoussou's memory. Through SOS CLEAN WATER Mamadou intends to build a water well in one remote village in Africa after another. Please join us and help us spread the word!
