Cozumel Dive Shop

I am looking for funding for a Dive Shop in Cozumel Mexico. I have been saving money to buy a shop at some point in my life. I made a 6-year plan just about 2 years ago to do so, I want this for my wife and I for our working retirement. However, this is not just for us, in the many years I have been traveling to Cozumel I met a Marine Biologist that has opened our eyes to the depleting coral reef system in Cozumel.

There are many factors too why it is happening some that my wife and I cannot control, like Cruise Ships, Trash and Global Warming. However, we can control the human aspect of the destruction by educating new divers along with the lifetime divers. Work with other local dive shops on developing a training program for divers and snorkelers alike. Plan and implement cleaning dives to remove the trash from the seafloor, really it is endless of what we can do with the human aspect!

Cozumel is part of the 2nd largest barrier reef system in the world, only second to The Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the fifth most visited reef in the world by divers and snorkelers.

On a visit to the island in January of 2018 we came across a perfect shop that is for sale. We met with the owners, toured the shop, looked over the books and fell in love! The only thing it needed was an offer, and unfortunately, we do not have enough money saved up yet.

I have read extensively into all the regulations and legalities and have been saving for something like this to come along for a while. But being just 2 years into my 6-year plan, I never accounted for this opportunity to come by so soon. So now, I need your help to make this dream a reality!

This shop will help me ensure an increase in the preservation and cultivation of coral reefs within the region. With the increase in tourism, it is essential to ensure that the fate of the reefs across Cozumel isn't as dire as that of the Great Barrier Reef - the fragile ecosystems have already been damaged and continue to deteriorate, but it's not too late to reverse this.
