Target 12.3 By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses.
Malaysians waste up to 8000 tons of food (approx. 16,000,000 pizzas, assuming each weighs about 500 grams), and that’s equivalent to about six million people’s feeding capacity, everyday. Preventable food waste is the large source of solid waste and a primary driver of greenhouse gas emissions. Thus in accordance to the 12th Global Goal, this project is created to specifically target the food wastage issue in Malaysia.
