Clean-As-We-Go is a community-based, environmental and social action initiative spearheaded by the non-academic scholars of Humphrey Foundation Learning Center. These middle and junior high school students have been engaged in a quarterly school grounds and community clean up since June 2018 as part of their scholarship. Through this project, these students were able to demonstrate their commitment to create a healthy and sustainable community at First Street, Plaridel II Subdivision, where HFLC is located and have taught them environmental stewardship. These actions, although minor, have meaningful positive bearings on the environment and demonstrate the power of working together.
This cleanup project aims to:
- Improve the physical appearance as well as creates a sense of community and pride among the residents;
- Create a good impression on those who visit the community;
- Improve the health of the community by eliminating places for insects and rodents to live;
- Provide an opportunity for the HFLC scholars to get involved and show immediate, visible results.
In line with this, the HFLC scholars are in need of your assistance in purchasing cleaning tools such as broomsticks, dustpans, rakes, several garbage bins, grass shears, protective gloves, litter picker and more!
Please consider donating to this project and help us raise awareness by sharing this project with your friends on social media. Update will be posted as soon as the fund comes in. Thank you for your support in Clean-As-We-Go project and for making a difference for our environment!
