The 2016 8th Grade Trip to Washington, D.C. Needs Your Help!!
The eighth grade class of Cornerstone Learning Community in Tallahassee, Florida is raising funds for its week-long trip to Washington D.C. Funds will go directly towards transportation, lodging, and tickets for certain museums and theater events. This is an amazing educational opportunity for the students, and in order to make it affordable for every family, we've been fundraising for over a year already.
We’ve raised funds in wide variety of ways: we’ve sold everything from sno-cones and baked goods to hot cider and locally roasted coffee, provided babysitting services to our school community, and sold refreshments at community events. We were even able to tap into our school director’s generosity and amazing sense of humor to raise additional funds – thanks for letting us dye your hair crazy colors and shape your Movember mustache, Mr. Jason!!
We've Worked Hard, and Even Got Creative
Every single student has participated in this fundraising, and has a real stake in the trip. We have raised over 45% of total amount needed so far, and are making one final push by reaching out to our larger community of friends and family through this campaign. We have created a fun video that was produced, filmed, and edited entirely by our 8th grade students for your enjoyment. It's only four minutes long, but it took a lot of work and we had a lot of fun making it!
Please have a look, and if you enjoy it, tell all your friends, and follow the instructions on this website for donating. Any amount will help, and your donation is tax deductible!
Thank you in advance for you support and generosity! We are very excited for our trip and all the amazing (and educational) adventures that await!!
