Claudia – A new life

When Claudia was born, she was given a different name by her parents. She loved to play with dolls in her childhood but had to keep this secret. When she tried her mothers clothes as a teenager, she has been shouted at. There was nobody to explain her what was going on, in a time without internet. In a village where it was nearly a scandal when she was wearing long hair. Imagine what people would have said when they would have seen her in stockings and a bra which she was secretly wearing.

When she moved out with 23 to study at an university things changed. In her own apartment she could wear whatever she wanted without the risk of being surprised by parents or siblings. Now she had access to the internet and found out, that there are people like her. With a male body but the mind of a woman. But back in those times it was not easy to come out with something like that. Beside the family conflicts which would have caused there was always a monetary deficit.

The years passed by and Claudia suffered. Though she changed her career goals to a more female job, it was not possible for her to express her female side in public. She was still confused, unsure and torn about what to do. The fear of breaking with family and friends.

Finally, with 38 years of age, Claudia broke out of her nutshell. She told some friends and her fiancee which were a bit shocked at the beginning, but fully accept her. And so she stepped in to a new life.

But again a big barricade is the financial aspect. Though she is working and has an average income, at the end of the month there is nothing left. The bills for sessions with a psychologist are high and her health insurance just pays back a small amount, while refusing to take any costs for needed medical treatment, like hormones, laser treatment (for facial hair) or the surgeries. For welfare she earns too much though. Beside of this you also should consider, that she needs a complete new set of clothes, accessories and in this state also a lot of makeup (to hide male aspects, like a beard shadow). If you are a female imagine how much you may have spent during the years of your life, as a man just have a look into the wardrobe of your wife/mom/sister.

That's why I thought a fundraising campaign would help. She'd never ask herself for this but obviously she needs assistance.

- 5 € would pay a tube of concealer

- 10 € a piece of clothing

- 60 € a session with the psychologist

- 120 € for three months of hormone treatment

If you don't want to give money, maybe you'll find something in your wardrobe you consider to give away. Every little helps
