My name is Claire Coller and this year I will be going on a very exciting trip called Schoolies Revolution!
Schoolies revolution is about turning around a generation. It is a project of Hope Builders International and is offered to Year 12 students as an alternative to the "traditional" schoolies celebrations.
On this trip I will have the opportunity to experience life in a Ugandan village called The Village Of Hope.
The Village of Hope currently has 10 homes which house up to 8 orphans (majority are taken out of the local slum and of whose parents have been victims of AIDS) and a house mother (who in most cases would be a widow). These homes provide the opportunity for these children to grow up in as close to a family environment as possible.
What I will be doing at The Village of Hope:
On my trip my group and I will be apart of constructing the 11th house in the Village of Hope, we will have the opportunity to play with the children and learn from the house mothers!
We will be visiting the local slums, school, church, and town. I am sure this will be a life changing experience and I cannot wait for this chance of a lifetime to not only celebrate the end of my high school days but to change the lives of 8 other children who in the end of construction will have the chance for a better life.
I have already saved for and paid $1,500 and my goal is to raise the last $1,500, this will go to funding the rest of my costs in order for me to get to Uganda!
Thank you very much for your interest, God bless and be sure to watch the video!!!
