Campaign Story
The most difficult yet most loving thing we could do for a loved one fighting for his/her life is to surrender lovingly to God's will. A mother may love her child more than she could ever love herself, but it is nothing compared to God's infinite love for her child. This is the most painful but also the most peaceful prayer a mother could ever pray for
-to leave her child's life up to the will of the Giver of Life Himself.
Mary Elyse, born at 26 weeks, weighing 800+ grams is currently fighting for her life in the NICU. Her first 72 hours was crucial for her as she was intubated and used a ventilator. Ely has a condition called patent ductus arteriosus, a hole in her heart that did not close at birth. It is very common among pre-term babies. I have read about it – some were good as it eventually closed on its own, while some were bad as it needed surgery. The problem is, she is too small to undergo surgery, thus, we are relying on her will to live and God's mercy, grace and provision.
We sincerely believe that God provides. In spite of the current difficulties, we are blessed to be asked by strangers, whom we have helped in our little ways before, for any way they could be of help. We are touched by people messaging that they could offer up little things to be of help. Truly, God works His ways through people as His instrument of provision. Our first-born, Ershey, also decided to sell all her toys and even her drawings as she prays so hard to have her baby sister home. Nothing of what we have can satisfy our hearts as much as when we give and share His blessings.
We are beyond grateful to everyone who has lifted a prayer for our warrior. We believe that a prayer lifted is always more than enough. For those who are willing to share a bit of what they can give, we will assure you that whatever we will raise will also be shared to parents who are struggling to keep their babies in the NICU (whom I met in this journey through a support group), for we believe that when we were left with almost nothing, we more felt the need to share even the littlest that we have. The amount does not matter, we more than appreciate your thoughts, love and prayers.
May this campaign help us appreciate that life is a precious gift that only He gives and only He takes. Let us all be thankful for every single hour spent with the people we love.Thank you for being a part of this fight, please lift up a prayer for our little warrior, we are claiming that she be victorious in this battle. We believe that where there is great love, there are miracles.
Though she hasn't met you yet, she sure feels all the love through your help and prayers. We pray that God showers you with graces and blessings and embrace you and your family with His protection and love. You too are in our prayers. We will be forever grateful.
