Hi, My name is Arthur Walden and i would like to start a citrus farm in my Beautiful country of Tanzania.
However, it needs substantial financial backing from anyone who may be interested., i have currently acquired 11 acres and planning to acquire 50 acres more when it is available.
The farms location is south of Tanzania, within the Nachingwea District, Lindi Region.
This project is long term and i plan to plant around 50 acres of citrus trees.
Project cost estimates put it around 1000USD per acre, this includes the following, Farm clearance, plating, fertilising, pesticides, irrigation and maintenance.
The time taken for the citrus trees to grow and start fruiting depends on the variety that is best suited to the environment. Roughly one will start to collect fruits from the 3rd year of planting.
The actual cost of starting a citrus farm is moderately high, but with time it has a high return on you investment.
