What Happened - Diane Chart was the Executive Director of Northwoods Wildlife Center. She was also like a second mom too me. I am best friends with her daughter Jessica Schouten, and she has never stopped caring for us and educating us. Sadly, on Saturday, September 8th all of our lives changed. Diane was killed in a terrible car accident along with an exchange student, Tomas, that was planning on staying with them throughout the fall. Diane has always helped with exchange programs being a big part of the Rottery Club in Minocqua. Diane's 15 year old son Dylan was also involved in the car crash, he was in critical condition but thankfully has been released recently and has begun his healing process at home. Diane would give anything and everything for her family and the Northwoods Wildlife Center, her second home. One of her loves besides her family of course, was saving our world one step at a time. She gave her heart and soul into the wildlife center and it benefitted greatly from all of her extremely hard work, and now the center needs help during this hard time.
How you can Help - The Northwoods Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization that runs strictly on donations from kind people that believe in saving the environment one step at a time. Every penny counts, and the center would be appreciative of any and all help. Diane was in charge of getting sponsorships and running events to try and bring in donations, and without her the center is in a rough spot. By giving a donation you could be helping a Loon get back into the water and swim, or helping an Eagle get shelter and food that can no longer fly because of an injured wing...by donating a little you can save a lot!
Feel free to stop by the center for a free tour of our residents and to become even more educated on our wildlife family!
