Hello everyone!

My name is Marijana Jović, and I am a youth worker with a completed degree in Psychology. In addition to studying psychology, I have also completed a one-year undergraduate program at the Center for Women's Studies in Belgrade, Serbia.

I am very proud of my professional development and journey, although it has not always been easy. This is why I have decided to ask for your support in fulfilling a long-standing goal by launching a mini-campaign - to enroll in an educational program to be a psychotherapist of gestalt psychotherapy. The program lasts 4 years, and in order to successfully attend and complete the first cycle (lasting 2 years), I need financial support in the amount of 3500 Euros.

The money raised through this campaign will be used for:

- Tuition, which covers lectures, group and individual meetings and required literature

- Consultations with mentors (an additional cost not included in the program cost)

- Additional work on development of my expertise, attending seminars and lectures on other psychotherapeutic approaches, personal development

- Additional professional literature

Those who know me know that I invest a large part of my knowledge, time and work in volunteer engagement, which supports various people who need emotional and psychological support. These are primarily women who come from different socially vulnerable groups, women with mental disabilities, those who live in social care institutions and lesbians.

My approach to work is based on feminist values, human rights and the principles of inclusion, and it has not been easy to apply this within the public or business sector, so my entire professional engagement is related to the civil sector and part-time consulting. Due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus, I personally felt the instability and unsustainability of my income. Attending a psychotherapy educational program has long been my desire and the next level in my professional growth, however, I also see it as a necessary step to ensure a more secure income in unstable working conditions.

At the same time, it is clear that there is a growing need for emotional and psychological support. I have particularly noticed it through my voluntary work during the pandemic.

That is why it is important to say that the funds invested in my education will also contribute to the communities which I regularly support and work with. By gaining new skills and knowledge I will continue to support those who need support, and those who do not have the opportunity to access it via other channels.
