Church Roof Collapse – We Need Assistance Please

We need your assistance

First of all thank you for viewing our fundraising cause.

We are a local church named Rhema Family Christian Centre based in Amanzimtoti Durban. Due to heavy rain over the last week we had the unfortunate event of our roof collapsing.

We are still in the church building stage, so we moved from a tent to a semi-permanent structure that unfortunately was not strong enough to withstand the intense rain and weight of the water. The water did not drain fast enough and over the weekend collapsed half of the roof.

We are a small church and due to the covid restrictions and everyone struggling to get back on their feet we don't have enough funds to get the roof repaired. We were advised to start an online funding campaign so here we are hoping and praying that we will get assistance.

We have had 6 quotations to get the roof fixed and the best one out of the lot came to R36 000.00 We will also need to replace some of our chairs that got broken when the roof fell and most probably get the carpets cleaned as it is still raining and water leaking into the church. Our church is very community driven. We were a real beacon of hope during the intense stages of the lockdown supplying hundreds of families with food parcels as we did before and continuing to this day. We were also one of the churches in the area chosen by local government to supply our community with food vouchers. We have also been counseling and feeding the destitute and homeless in our communities.

Our Mission is to impact our local community, by actively contributing towards a social development ministry that encourages Christian counsel and education, and most importantly bringing about Godly transformation and social upliftment to the poor, vulnerable and marginalised.
