THE CHURCH HAVE BEEN ILLEGALLY AND UNLAWFULLY LOCKED OUT OF THEIR RENTAL SPACE
Anyone can verify and confirm this story by reading about it in the media, such as, "Shelburne Free Press" .. "Shelburne Freelancer online" .. (Orangeville Banner" ... "Shelburne Worship Center Facebook page" .... "Rev. Vincent Sterling Facebook page" etc.


The First question that obviously comes to everyone's mind after hearing about this story is, "what have the church and/or the Pastor done to cause these bizarre illegal and unlawful scheme of events by the landlord and his son, and others they employ to help carry out their evil rampage shown in the videos below?"
You yourself might quickly assume, that maybe the church or the Pastor breached some kind of contractual agreement...THE ANSWER IS "NO! ...... You may even justly assume, that maybe the church and the Pastor didn't pay their rent, or some other bills. ...THE ANSWER AGAIN IS "NO.

HERE'S HOW THE STORY UNFOLDS
On April 6th, 2018, the Pastor was home when he received a phone call. The caller did not identify himself. The caller said, “You are no longer a tenant. You are done. The locks have been changed. I have nothing more to say to you,” and hung up the phone. the Pastor recognized the caller and phone number to be that of the landlord.
He hurried to the church. Upon arriving on the street, the Pastor observed from far off that the church sign had been taken down.

The Pastor proceeded to the building and discovered that indeed the sign was down, and the locks had been changed. The Pastor immediately went to the landlord's business place, which is one of the units at the same address. I asked his son what caused this action, to which he responded, “I don’t know anything, ask my father.”
I called his father approximately 5 times, with no answer. Finally, the father showed up, totally ignoring me and treating me as if I was not there.

He went into their machine shop, so I followed behind him as he went in and sat down. I asked him what this was all about; changing the locks and tearing down the signs. To which he did not answer. Shortly after, the Shelburne Police showed up. An officer went into their Machine shop. Again, I asked the landlord in front of the officer, what caused him to take these illegal, unlawful, unprovoked and unfounded actions against me and the church congregation. The landlord said “you didn’t pay your rent for April!” I said to the landlord, “you must be mistaken. The rent for April is in the bank.”

I rang the bank and put the phone on speaker in the presence of the police, the landlord and the landlord's son.
The representative came on the phone, and after identifying myself, I asked the representative the following questions:
a. “What is the current balance?” This was confirmed to be over and above the required amount to cover the rent payment.
b. “Was this money in the account on April 1st, 2018?” This was confirmed, yes.
c. “Was there a returned cheque on April 1st?” This was confirmed, yes.
d. “Why was the cheque returned when there were sufficient funds?” To which was answered, “not sure, seems the funds weren’t cleared.”
e. “How could the funds be on hold, when it was cash deposited?” To which was answered, “not sure, sir.”

I called my lawyer, who I was speaking with before. My lawyer advised me to send someone to the bank, get a certified bank draft, and bring it & deliver it to the landlord in front of the police. I did as I was instructed.
When the bank draft arrived, I gave it to the police officer, and the police officer gave it to the landlord. I asked for the new keys. The landlord hesitated, but I demanded. The landlord very reluctantly gave the keys to me and said, “you’re only there till the end of the month. At the end of the month, you’re gone.” I took the keys and entered the unit.

Upon entering the unit, I discovered placed inside on the ground, the signs of the church that were hung on the outside. The church signs were all busted up and damaged, as shown in picture. The church has a large window sign affixed to the glass front window, which the landlord and his son criminally mischievously and illegally as well as unlawfully began peeling off. We do have pictures showing damage caused to church glass window sign.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PLEASE BEAR IN MIND, THAT ALL OF THESE ACTIONS, MENTIONED SO FAR FROM THE LANDLORD AGAINST THE PASTOR AND THE CHURCH, IS WITHOUT ANY VALID DOCUMENTED PROVOCATION, OR GIVEN REASONS. OTHER THAN THE FACT, THAT THE LANDLORD AND HIS SON, ESPECIALLY THE SON DON'T LIKE BLACK PEOPLE.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is our intention with this story, to treat everyone reading with utmost respect, by not asking you to help us financially (as we are hoping you will), but to do so respectfully by providing you with sufficient truthful and honest information with undeniable facts and evidences attached.

HERE'S HOW THE STORY CONTINUES TO UNFOLD

After that April 6th hateful vicious attacks by the landlord against the Pastor and the church, the Pastor/church's lawyer wrote to the landlord, warning him of his unlawful conduct, also advising him to cease and desist from those practices, of which, neither he or his lawyer responded. (These transcripts are available for viewing and evidence, but my lawyer advised me not to attached them to this story publicly.

Sometime mid to late April the landlord hanged a Termination Notice of Tenancy on my unit door. When I read it, it says that on the end of May my tenancy will be expired, and failure for me to vacate and give up the unit, legal proceedings in the court of law will commence. (This document is also available for viewing upon request. Under the advise of our lawyer we cannot publicly post this document)

We have been looking for other locations to no immediate avail. Therefore, we were unable to move. And it was also impossible to move in that kind of a hurry. We have a full church setting with all kinds of church musical, sound equipment, furniture, piano, organ, holy things for holy communion and much more.

LET ME POINT OUT, THAT, UP TO THIS POINT THE LANDLORD STILL HAS , (1) OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT, (2) ALL OUR POST-DATED CHEQUES LEADING ALL THE WAY INTO OUR THREE YEARS LEASE AGREEMENT (3) HE CASHED CHEQUE FOR MAY 1ST, 2018 MONTH'S PAYMENT

Our lawyer wrote to the landlord once or twice again, and I wrote to him by email twice, to which neither my letter or the lawyer's received any reply. (Again those letters are available for viewing upon request)

June 2nd or June 3rd, 2018, we noticed that the payment for our June's payment was still sitting the account. Upon such discovery, we called our lawyer and advised him of this unusual action. Immediately after I proceeded to send an email to the landlord informing him that we noticed the payment for June is still sitting in the bank, And if he would like us to withdraw it and get to him the payment in the form of a bank draft, to which we again received no response.

Wednesday, June 6th, 2018, at approximately 9: 30pm, the Pastor was conducting Bible studies, when a sister was leaving, and on her way out, she was met by a police officer who asked her to get Pastor. She came back inside the church and approached the platform where the Pastor was delivering an address to those in the congregation, and told Pastor that the police were here to see him.

The Pastor respectfully excused himself from the pulpit and went outside to speak with the Police. The officer approached the Pastor and said to him “Reverend, the bailiff is here with a court order to change the locks and take possession of the property.” The Pastor quickly thought about the matter and said, “no that cannot be. He cannot have a court order without going through the proper channel which is the court, and the proper process, which would have included us being served, and being in court to protect our interest also.”

So without being given or shown this supposed court order, I turned to the officer and said, “no way officer, that’s not going to happen tonight.” Referring to the change of locks & the taking possession of the property. The police officer, responded to me, “yes, it’s going to happen, and more people are on their way.”
Anyways, to make a long story short, the police supervisor was requested, and immediately upon the arrival of Sergeant, the sergeant recognized what I did not see, which was a letter drafted by the bailiff himself on his own business letter head. And he had no authorization from the courts to take his actions. This document is also available for viewing upon request, but we are not able to post it publicly.

(AGAIN THIS LANDLORD WHO CLEARLY SHOWS ABSOLUTELY NO REGARDS AND NO RESPECT FOR THE LAW, FOR GOD, AND CERTAINLY NOT FOR THE CHURCH AND THIS BLACK PASTOR. I DON'T SEE WHY A LICENSED BAILIFF WOULD RISK HIS LICENSE, HIS PROFESSION AND HIS CAREER FOR THIS LANDLORD, BY DOING SOMETHING ILLEGAL? ...I WONDER IF THE LANDLORD CONVINCED THE BAILIFF THAT THE CHURCH WAS IN ARREARS WITH OUR RENT? BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY GROUNDS ON WHICH THEY WOULD BE OPERATING WITHIN THE LEGAL PARAMETERS. AND YET THEY WOULD STILL BE IN VIOLATION, BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THE COMMERCIAL LANDLORD AND TENANT ACT, THE TENANT MUST MISS PAYMENT FOR AT LEAST 15 DAYS, BEFORE THE LANDLORD CAN CHANGE LOCKS. IN THIS CASE THIS WAS ONLY THE 6TH DAY OF THE MONTH, OR IF THEY WISH TO INVOKE THE FACT, THAT, OUR NOTICE EXPIRES MAY 31ST, THEY CANNOT INTRODUCE JUNGLE LAW AND BULLY MENTALITY, THEY MUST TAKE THE MATTER TO COURT TO SEEK AN EVICTION ORDER FROM THE COURTS)

The sergeant on his arrival on the church scene, told myself, the bailiff, and his junior officer, that the police cannot enforce that letter, because it is not an official order that came from the court.

To make a long story short again, The police, bailiff and locksmith left, but the locks were still changed and we were not given a copy of the keys, so basically we were locked out.

The following day Thursday June 7th, a few reporters saw the story on facebook and called up the Pastor to come and interview him. While they came to do the interview with him the local police also showed up, and all of that was caught live on facebook.

A few days later the Pastor did a Press release to inform and update his parishioners, the community he serves, as well as the general public near and far on these matters and their unbelievable shocking development, that such "hate and racism" is existing right here in Shelburne

We will complete this story shortly, where you will see more clear plain illegal and unlawful, disrespectful and disregarding, hate and bigotry operation, from a landlord who just simple beives he is above the law, and that, he doesn't have to do anything legal and lawful and moral and respectful.

As we continue with this story, we are going to show you how he and his family stepped up their attacks against this black Pastor, because he was born black, against the church of GOD, by doing the following:
a) Regaining back the unit by changing the locks again
b) By welding up the doors
c) By seizing my personal belongings and the church's belongings, which constitutes theft
d) By towing away my two vehicles from the property
e) By refusing to let me have my personal belongings and any of the church's belongings
f) Etc.

In a turn of unfortunate events, SWC is now being forced to abruptly relocate. An ugly situation has presented itself in the form of the church landlord, who wants the church out and will stop at nothing to see to it that the church is out; the landlord has been on a rampage of attacks. Shrinking the church parking space, illegally changing the locks twice, misusing police involvement, changing the church Hydro into his own name and removing power from the church, and much more. The church does not want to be in this struggle with the landlord, and is more than happy to give him his unit, but would just like to be treated with decency and respect. However, with the abrupt need to relocate immediately, SWC is in need of some help.

The church is asking for assistance to first and foremost buy a property, as that is the top priority right now; this is an immediate need. Secondly, SWC is asking for assistance to help fund the upcoming programs and initiatives that are planned for the remainder of the 2018 year and onward; this will also allow us to do and contribute even more in the community. If anyone is able to help in any way at all, no matter how small, we all would be forever grateful and would see to it that your contribution would in no way go to waste or be misused. We are a church that is open & transparent in its operation. What you will contribute for this cause will be made open for you to see.
As a church, our faith is what drives us, what motivates us, and what gives us hope & strength. And we have faith that we will make it out of this trial.

Friends, brethren and love ones, here's a video below, that shows a brief peak of our many accomplishments and achievements in 2017, because of the grace and mercies of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. July 2nd (few days from now) our second annual Canada Day Community-Wide Celebration is set to go, and all our sound, musical and everything has been stolen by this landlord, while the police say, they can't do anything, because it's a civil matter. We agree, that in some aspect it is civil, but where there is clear breaking of the law that's a different matter.

One of the main question or concern we have heard is this, "the church "must" be in arrears, behind on their rent, or something of the sort: Or they must have breached some kind of agreement and have brought this problem on themselves. And we say, brilliant question concern. To be honest, maybe if we were outside looking in, that would be the most obvious concern we would have also.
But here is the answer to those questions and concerns .......... NO! NO! NO!
