Chuck’s Challenge

My name is Chuck and in 2015 I was adopted from PlumPets, an animal shelter in Plumstead, Cape Town. I was lucky to get a second chance at life, so I'd like to help those who need it.

Right now Cape Town is experiencing the worst drought in 100 years and we will be the first major city in the world to run out of water. The humans have been told that when Day Zero arrives (estimated for 12 April 2018) the taps will be turned off. There will be no more water. They will have to queue for it - but they'll only get 25 litres per person per day.

There is no allocation for the animals and strays. My humans will have to share their water with me (and my siblings - Bonnie, Clyde, Tosca and Carmen). I am really worried that the animals at PlumPets will not receive enough drinking water.

So please be awesome and help me raise funds (or water) to keep the PlumPets hydrated. Every little bit counts.

PlumPets animal shelter is a no kill animal organisation, established in 2006 by Paulette Bousfield and Duncan Stevens (a veterinarian). Paulette and Duncan, who own Plumstead Animal Hospital in Cape Town, play an important role in caring for the animals owned by the local community. Twelve years on in 2018, and Paulette has rescued and re-homed thousands of rescue dogs and cats. She has taken in some of the worst cases that no other animal welfare organisation would or could, and ensures that each animal brought to her is given the best chance of a healthy, happy life and a new home.
