The Christian Women Works of Charity (CWWC) in Ongata Rongai, Kenya is a small charitable organization that serves over 200 children and their families in two extremely poor villages where the rate of HIV infection is approaching 50%.
The CWWC offers several services:
-Day-care and lunches for orphans and vulnerable children
-HIV counseling and assistance with HIV testing
-Orphan placement in foster homes
-Classes from pre-K to first grade
-Home-based care for HIV-positive adults and children, including counseling, cooking, cleaning, prayers, and general assurance and support.
The CWWC does not charge for any of these services, and relies entirely on donations.
Currently the feeding program has run out of money. Most of the children served by this program get their only meal of the day from the CWWC--it is perhaps the most important service the CWWC provides.
Your donation (any amount is greatly appreciated) will go towards buying food for the orphans and vulnerable children of Kware and Gataka villages. Because this is an emergency, we have established the time limit of one week (Aug. 7th). Our aim is to raise at least $500 but of course we hope that the total is higher.
(The video is from a previous fundraising project that installed a new stove for the feeding program in Gataka.)
