Choose Life-Kokoda

18 months ago i was diagnosed with a very agressive form of Lymohoma. Now a year and a half down the track i am fitter and healthier that ever. I have created a foundation 'Choose Life' with the aim of using my experience to provide a positive influence to other young people currently undergoing treatment for, or in the early stages of remission for the many forms of blood born cancers. As part of my mission i will be taking part in a number of intense physical activities to showcase the transformation from patient to moving on with life. And, to demonstrate that there IS life after cancer. Having been in that horrible position myself i understand how tough a time it can be, and the importance of a strong support network and a positive outlook. I believe drawing on the experience of others who have been there and beaten it certainly gave me the strength i needed to know i would one day get past it and life a normal fulfilling life. For this fund raiser i haved decided to walk the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea, along side a foundation 'Yound Guns Development Academy', set up with the aim of promiting young kids to get out and be active through sport. This foundation resinated with me as i truly believe my many years of physical training and competitive sport gave me not only the physical, but the mental strength i need to get through my ordeal. It is my intent to donate the money to the Young Guns and help with their mission, along with CanTeen who we all know do such fantastic work with children suffering with Cancer.
