Campaign Story
KENSINGTON GIRLS CHORALE will be competing in the World Choir games at Flanders , Belguim in July 2020. This very talented group of young girls led by Liz Gaffley, KYKNET judge of Sing in Harmonie, has been a shing star in Cape Town and surrounds.
The choir was established in 2007 and the ages of the girls range from 12 to 19 years.During their short period of existence they have managed to win the ladies section of the Suidooster Fees in February 2008. In 2009 they won the ANIMATO national finals and received the award for Best Girls Youth Choir in South Africa and also performed at a mass choir with Bishop Desmond Tutu as guest speaker. In 2011 they won GOLD and Best Regional Girls Choir in SA. They went on to achieve their biggest award ever in 2012 with
:Best Rendition of a work from a classical period
:Best Girls choir in SA
:Best Youth choir in SA
They again won Gold in 2013 and 2017 Best Community choir at Animato National Finals. In 2018 the choir also particaped in the 10th World Choir games in Tswane.
