Cloe’s hope for recovery

Update posted by BASAK TROTTER On Jan 11, 2022

I wish everyone a happy new year. Here are some updates on Cloe.

Cloe was finally discharged from the hospital on the 2nd of January. However, she was taken to an emergency surgery again as the shunt moved and they had to reopen to adjust it. (From the web: A shunt is a hollow tube surgically placed in the brain to help drain cerebrospinal fluid)

Her pathology results also came in. Unfortunately, the tumor is malignant and she will need both chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am enclosing the pathology results for your reference.

We were hoping that we would have good news following the surgery, unfortunately, that is not the case. The family still needs funds to go through this very tough period in their lives. They do not have a place in Manila and they need support for the post-op treatment. So please help me spread the word.

Thank you very much,

Basak

Note: In terms of medical references & updates, I am just putting in how Carol translates the information Cloe's doctor has been providing. So apologies if there is any misinterpretation or lack of clarity.

Chloe is being discharged from the hospital today. She will continue to get therapies to get back on her feet. Overall, her recovery from the surgery is on track. Best news is she is finally with her mum.

We are still waiting for the critical pathology results. The family is trying to put together the funds. I will keep this fundraiser open as they will need continuous support.

Thank you so much for your donations so far. Hope to give another update with good news soon.

Cloe had her first brain surgery yesterday. After 7 hours of operation, She is still sleeping. She gained consciousness at some stage and was responsive. She continues with her rest in the hospital.

Her doctor explained that they removed 80-90% of the tumour. He mentioned that the rest was in the grey zone and would be too risky to remove. If the tumour is malignant, she would need a second operation, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Now they are conducting a biopsy on the tumour. We hope and pray for good results, for the tumour to be benign. There will be a different medical plan and roadmap depending on the results.

Carol is highly appreciative of all your donations. She is flying to the Philippines tomorrow morning to see her daughter, following a one week quarantine.

Thank you all very much for your support. Cloe and her family undoubtedly need all the help they can get until this is over.

I will keep you posted on the progress.

All the best,

Basak
