Chito’s Battle Against Chronic Kidney Disease

Our family is asking kindly for any assistance for my father, Chito Lustre, who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and Sepsis in January of this year. He had grown weak over the past year, and was was admitted into the ICU of St. Lukes on January 20 and then transferred to PGH on January 25 where he stayed for 2 more weeks. He is 65 years old, retired, without medical insurance, and the cost of his hospitalization alone has already pushed the family back by over 1 million pesos.

He was sent home from the hospital on Feb 10 2021, but he's far from recovered. Our mother, Nora, cares for him 24 hours a day, as he is currently immobile and physically disabled. His speech is also impaired which frustrates him a lot, sepsis still under monitoring, and he is in dire need of weekly dialysis to even begin to get better. And today, Feb 18, he is going back to the hospital for surgery to reinstall his dialysis catheter. And at this point, our parents have exhausted all of their finances and loan options, and yet they still need at least 30k a month for medical expenses (2x a week dialysis + medicine + other medical fees) needed for his condition.

My brothers, Anthony & Andrei, and I are doing everything we can, although Andrei is actually still in college, and my father's wish is for him to graduate. And so I'm afraid the only chance we really have right now is to appeal to you, our friends, family, and kind strangers to help our family overcome this. We need help with paying for his medical bills and give my father and our whole family a fighting chance.
