Chiskop Mahhala

Chiskop Mahhala is a young vibrant non profit organisation that aims to bring fun and unity among school kids just before school opens. The organisation does this by organizing an event where kids get free hair cuts, face paints and have fun together.

The event is meant to unite community kids and let them enjoy meeting each other and make friends before schools are actually open. We have had two successful events first one being in the beginning of January and another in July.

These have all been in KZN where it all started, because of its unique nature and success we have had multiple requests from Facebook friends and random people asking us to bring the event to their communities as well. Which has shown us that the initiative has been a very good one. We have had to ensure that things like registration and licensing documents are available quickly to get traction and be able to feed the hunger for Chiskop Mahhala.

In these events kids get to enjoy some good music get free tokens like balloons and sweets sometimes, we do have a few small items selling as part of raising funds for the organization but we all know that its not enough to carry the weight of the preparation, promotion and the actual event. On top of that we have local people helping us to do the actual work of cutting the kids hair all day long, we usually have food and drinks prepared for them but we do wish to give more to them as well.

For our January event we want to acquire some stationary for the primary school kids and coloring books for the Grade R - Grade 4 kids. We will have 2 events in January, in KZN, Pongola and another in Limpopo, Malamulele.
