CHIP in for Hurricane Sandy & Indpls Explosion Relief

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, Acquaintances, and all others visiting this page,

In the wake of the catastrophe that has devastated thosands of families on the east coast, I will be running a fundraiser over the next five days in hopes of raising money that I can personally deliver to a shelter or charitable organization on Thanksgiving morning.  I have booked a flight out to Newark, NJ and I will be departing first thing in the morning on that Thursday. I will be meeting my very good friend Andrew Hasty in Newark and from there our plan is to devote the day to serving the community.

This past weekend, as I'm sure most of you are aware, there was another disaster that took place. This one hit much closer to home, literally. Having grown up on the south side of Indianapolis not far from where the explosion occurred, it's difficult to imagine what the ramifications could've been for the ones I love. Two people lost their lives that evening, and 80 homes were damaged. Victims of the blast are members of neighboring parishes and many have an affiliation with the high school I attended, Roncalli.

Any contribution is much appreciated. If there's a will, there's a way, and I believe with your help, our combined efforts will have the will to find the way! Give what you can manage, I'm sure those who will be on the receiving end will be more than appreciative.

I will be frequently sending out updates while I'm out in NJ. My hope is to make their day a very special one and to let them know we are all thinking of them this holiday season. Upon my return I will be seeking an opportunity to help out in Indianapolis. The rest of the money will be donated to relief efforts for those victims, most likely I will look for a way to give it to the families directly.

I am incredibly gracious for the countless blessings I have had in my life. The people I am surrounded with in my life are absolutely at the top of that list of blessings. I thank you all in advance for any contributions you are willing to provide. I can assure you every single bit counts and will go a very long way.

I will be doing all that I can to promote this effort and it would be much appreciated if you could spread the word as well.  So please, if it's not too much to ask, utilize those networking skills!
