Located in the economically challenged and food-scarce community of Cannot Haiti, The School of Hope (L’Ecole d’Espoir) is a cheerful & welcoming place for 80 children to grow, to learn and for many to eat a small daily meal.

Aside from education, the school provides a daily food program to those who are in most need. Children who are weak from lack of food are provided with bread and peanut butter or cornmeal in the mornings. A more robust hot meal is provided once a month to the children and teachers, but we are working to generate funding to increase this to happen more often.

We are so happy you stopped by our page to grant these children a little more abundance in their lives! If you wish to donate towards the school, your contribution will go a very long way and will generate strength, health & hope for these little ones and their community:

-Currently just 2 large containers of peanut butter per week are budgeted for the morning meal (along with bread), but it would be more ideal to increase this to 3 containers weekly. A large container of peanut butter is $16, and will give the children a little more daily sustenance.

-$2 for a large cup of basic dried rice or beans will stretch to feed 4 children.

-The more complete hot monthly meal of rice and beans and a little meat (to feed 80) is approximately $100 USD, which is just $1.25 per person per plate. Very economical!

-School books are also on the wish-list, and so if you would like to help in that area the contributions would buy for example:

-$10 USD for 3 Reading Books
-$20 USD for 4 Grammar Books
-$40 USD for 10 Vocabulary Books
-$80 USD for 14 Books of Math, Science, History or Geography

-The rent of the school is $250 USD per year

-The teachers salaries total are $250 USD per month, or $3,000 per year but ideally should be increased by a little more to offer a better living.

Your donations may also on occasion go towards providing simple antibiotics or basic healthcare to community members on an as-needed emergency basis. It's incredible how even basic antibiotics are not available to many there. Except for the fee charged by the online fundraising platform, every single cent of your donation is guaranteed to directly reach the children. We can provide tax receipts for any amount over $20 USD if it is in cheque form, please contact us via our Facebook page before you donate and we can arrange this.

Mesi Ampil !! (Thank-you very much!) in Creole, and thank-you for stopping by!
