Running To Help Diabetic Children

Update posted by Georges Nikolic On Mar 17, 2016

I only realized how blessed and lucky I am to be healthy after I found out that 3 children from families I have connections with are diabetic. After doing a web search I have read that the number of children with diabetes is on the rise on a daily basis, if not by minutes. It’s not very common and easy to be recognized immediately. In today’s world most adults or children are not aware about the symptoms of diabetes. Diabetes is a daily struggle for survival.

I overheard my aunt telling my mum her intentions to be a volunteer in a new non-profitable association that is under establishment in Limassol. For the past 10 years there has been an annual marathon in Limassol, Cyprus. Now that I have reached the age required to participate I would like to dedicate my running ability to raise funds in supporting, contributing and helping the administrators/organizers for opening the doors to all those children in need and help them understand their illness and how to cope with it on a daily basis that can give them hope to a longer, better and healthier life with their illness.
