Campaign Story
Hello, my name is Ivan. I visited Nepal in April 2019. I adore mountaineering and this was the reason I went there. But Nepal is not only its magnificent mountains. This sacred place and people I met there had big impact on me and changed my attitude to life.
Nepal's mountain regions are home of Sherpa people. Sherpa migrated from East Tibet to Nepal around 600 years ago and first they settled in Khumbu region engaged in husbandry and trade. With alpinism and mountaineering evolution many Sherpa people became mountain guides and porters for a livelihood. They carry on their backs a huge amount of weight like food supplies for lodges, construction materials and tourists' luggage for which they receive just a low wage.
Living in Nepal is not easy especially in the mountain areas. I wish to gather funds which will be used for children education, medical care in the mountain remote areas and support for people in need.
