We visited Nepal during the Diwali festival; the celebration of the victory of light over darkness and hope over despair. We saw from the children there that this idea is rooted deeply into their culture. Despite sitting in a rat infested school with overflowing toilets and no lunch until they returned home their ambition and optimism was inspiring. The uplifting attitudes of the aspiring doctors and teachers reflected the music and celebrations through the streets of Kathmandu, now brought to dust by the recent earthquake. Surely such a hopeful people deserves our help as they try to rebuild the very heart of their country
