Whats The Problem:There is small community in Jamaica, far from the resorts & beautiful chlorine pools. This place is called Prospect . Located in St. Elizabeth Parish, this area is very remote providing a rough life. The children have never seen or been on a slide or swing. The local elementary school has no park, no sports equipment, a small room with some books on the table for a library, some unplugged non-working computers for a computer lab, an out dated washroom outside, miles of washed out roads due to poor drainage, requires the children to pay for the text books they use, has children pay for a portion of there daily lunch and even have to pay for a school uniform.
Fund Raising Goal:
Funds will go towards building the schools first ever park, soccer balls, skipping ropes, library books, computers, uniforms for kids who can't afford, text books. If possible; a real washroom on a proper septic system. Most will be shipped via barrels with myself on the other end to bring to the school.
Who Am I:
I was born in Canada; but my father, now passed, was from this area in Jamaica. He would give what he could when he could. I feel now it's my turn to continue. I've been there many times and have great contacts at the school and in the area to help.
If you seen the appreciation from these children when I recently gave them books, pencils, pens, and suckers. I've also started a penpal program with my son's Grade 5 class here in Canada with the Grade 5 class in Jamaica.
How Much Should You Donate:
Let's just say there's no way I can do this alone. I made a promise to the school I would do what I can; hence, this fundraiser. Give what you can. Any amount is better than no amount. At the very least share the fundraiser to your friends to help raise awareness.
Thank you all so much in advance for even taking the time to read my message.

Pen Pal Program Success
Update posted by David Kameka at 11:56 amAfter a successful presentation in front of my son's Grade 5 Class. My son's school is on board for my Pen Pal idea. I've got his teacher to send home permission letters to have their child start writing these children in Grade 5 in Jamaica. How cool is that???
