Campaign Story
Education is fundamental. Most of us are lucky enough to have access to this incredible opportunity, which we often take for granted. However, not everyone is so fortunate. Access to basic education is still a global issue, and financial aid for improving education systems in low-income countries is insufficient.
In July, I am hoping to travel to Cambodia to volunteer in underfunded childcare centres. I will teach and assist in classes where the children will work on Khmer literacy, the English language and various other topics. This will give me the opportunity to share my skills, exchange ideas and values, and experience cultural differences.
Starting university has increased my awareness of the differences in opportunities depending on where in the world you happen to be born. Reflecting on this has pushed me to take action. I believe that this experience will be a great place to start.
I hope to help as many children as possible throughout my trip. Myself, along with the children and surrounding communities, would be extremely grateful for any donation - big or small! They will be pleased to know that there are people like you who want to make an incredible difference.
