Child treatment

Dear friend,

I hope you are well . I am writing to ask you for help. Last year a terrible accident happened to my 8-year-old son, Michael. On October 4, 2021, Michael and I went to the city of Pai (in northern Thailand). There was a beautiful geyser on the side of the road and we stopped to take pictures. Unfortunately, the geyser was not fenced, and there were no signs warning the visitors that the water temperature in the geyser was 100 degrees.

The ground was very soft and slippery as it had just rained. We were very careful not to go near the geyser. Unfortunately, Michael slipped, lost his balance and fell into the geyser. He received 60% burns of 3rd degree. He was very frightened.

We immediately took him to the hospital, but they didn't treat him. We took him from one hospital to the other. We went to at least 4 Thai hospitals. Finally, only the Burn Unit of Bangkok Chulalongkorn Hospital, agreed to treat him as only they had the facilities for skin grafting.

Michael spent 6 months at the Burn center of Chulalongkorn hospital. There, he underwent lot of skin grafting operations. Poor Michael, he suffered a lot. He was always in pain as the wounds took a long time to heal. He would often cry at night. I blame myself every day. I have not slept properly after this incident.

Dear friend, all my savings were used to pay for his treatment. Additional funds are still needed for Michael's rehabilitation to enable him to walk normally like any other child. This would cost me further 1.000.000 baht.

Dear friend, we will be very thankful to you if you donate any amount, however small it may be! We pray and hope Michael has very good rehabilitation and can have a normal life as usual. He is very young and has a promising life ahead of him. He is very talented and is good in his studies. Please donate for his rehabilitation and spread the word among your friends and family.
