To anyone that's wanting to read this,

Who am I and whats the reason for doing a lapd tribute build?

Let me shortly introduce myself...

My name's Ruben and at the time of making this page im 22 years young, Im born and raised in Belgium and have never done anything special or unique so far in my life, Im quite an introvert and have difficulties opening up, and trust people to easy leading to things such as this project.

I decided a while back that I wanted to buy an American classic car, and was looking for either a 60s /70s muscle car or police car as i've always loved either of those. I however never thought i ever would do such thing, as i didnt make university here and am working full time in shifts in some label printing company. I dont make much money and being an introvert, I dont see myself moving up much in life to afford a restoration on my car doing it myself or with help from others.

I did end up buying a clown car which i believed was the real deal, after i lost my older nephew to a suicide a few years back, as i figured i have to at least try going for something i want to do in my life, thus my choise for my project car.

Why did i create this gogetfunding page?

Ive recently bought an old american chevy caprice built in 1981which i overpaid quite a bit for, with a front and rear conversion to a 1987 and onwards model, painted in black and white scheme with LAPD decals, lights,...

I was looking for a classic american car, preferably a police vehicle as ive always loved them, but with my limited knowledge about them at the time of my search and purchase, i bought a fake one, a clown car as people would call it.

I bought it out of excitement finding it without checking it well enough ( as finding such thing here in Belgium is really hard and im not familiar with importing vehicles...

I realised however after a while that things don't quite add up on it and started to see things that were out of place on the vehicle...

these include;

- model year 1981 was only civilian vehicles, police packages only came in 1986 onwards

- wrong lightbars / sirens, lights in general and siren

- wrong interior

-...

the car itself has some obvious age related problems such as rustspots here and there over the car on the surface, not including the spots hidden from sight. and a whole lot of work to do to get it in proper shape.

In long term I would love to learn working on cars, and following an education about them while getting my car in proper state and worthy being called a tribute car.

I know it sounds kind of selfish asking help with this, and i really hope i dont look that way, as nobody has to support in any way, though i'd greatly appriciate the ones who do, and if there are any who do, I cant thank you enough for even considering donating something to help me out.

Id love to post pictures about the car and show progress or talk about it with anyone who even is interested in it or just wants to hear my story in this at all.
