Corgi Chestnut’s 3rd surgery in 2020

Chestnut is a 10 years old Welsh Corgi from Hong Kong. In Feb 2020 we found a lump on her lower abdomen, within days we consulted vets and decided to go for surgery. However, after the first surgery she suffered from complications and was bleeding blood water from her wounds so they had to perform a second surgery on her. Turns out it was a muscle tumor and they never found out the reason that led to the complications.

By April, she was recovering well and started to run to greet us like her usual self. Brought tears to my eyes seeing her so lively and wanting to play. But we soon found another problem..

Chestnut started to scream in pain/fear whenever we pad/touch her head, we found a lump on the left side of her forehead. Initially the vet suggested to take antibiotics and steroids to see if it helps, we then did a needle biopsy and found ‘abnormal cell growth’ suggesting it is a tumor rather then infection, and eventually we did a CT scan which shows the tumor has passed the skull touching her brain.

We saw a senior surgeon today, which he said surgery is possible, but he suggested a MRI first to see the brain area more clearly before performing surgery on her. We were also informed that the tumor has spread to the nasal area, and she probably lost >60% of her hearing by now.

I have spent more than HKD30000 (~USD4000, ~GBP3200) on Chestnut’s treatment since Feb, and I am struggling to pay for the upcoming treatments. MRI is HKD14300 and the surgery is expected to be HKD 4-50000

I am asking for your generous help for us to get through the 3rd surgery. Anything helps.
