Chemotherapy Treatment For my Mother

Hi Everyone,

I’m Joan, I’m the eldest daughter of Josefina Atayan. I’m writing our story in the hopes of gathering financial support to help my mother push through, and continue her fight against colon cancer.

My mother has Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. She has undergone segmental resection last May 2019 to remove the blockage on the small intestine. However, her doctor recommended Chemo right after because small traces of cancer cells showed in her CT scan which has spread to her liver, lungs and kidney.

She has been doing chemo every 21 days since August 2019 in public hospital in Manila which costs 27,000 PHP (600 USD) per cycle. Unfortunately due to travel restrictions in our province since COVID-19, she is not able to continue her treatment and the private hospital near us charges nearly double, something that I cannot afford right now as I am only receiving 30% of my salary since my company has announced a temporary shutdown of operation.

She has suffer tremendously during this COVID-19 and this resulted to another complication of an abnormal buildup of fluid in the abdomen causes her belly to become swollen. The procedure to remove the fluid will cost another 150,000 PHP (3000 USD) approximately besides the chemo cycle that she needs to continue and the medicines she'd be taking in between.

I would like to ask for your help, if you can donate any amount, I would really appreciate it. This would really help my mom get the help she needs and hopefully, cure her cancer and prolong her life.
