Chemotherapy medicine for my beloved mother, Nanay Marilou

I am LJ ([email protected]), and I am raising funds for my mother, Nanay Marilou's, chemotherapy medicine. Nanay is a public elementary school teacher. She was diagnosed with lung cancer last January 2019. By May 2019, she started having difficulty walking and lying down. She had to sleep sitting down, but was barely able to rest because she is awakened by extreme pain throughout the night. After having PET CT scan done in September 2019, it was found out that the cancer has metastasized and there was a growth near her hip. She was prescribed Tagrisso (Osimertinib) which helped improve her condition.

In July 2020, the pain on her hip again worsened; and this time extending to the bottom of her spine. We had her undergo another PET CT scan on September 2020, and we found out that the growth on her hip has indeed enlarged up to her lower back. There was also an increase in the size of growth on her lungs. She continues to take medication for the pain.

Because of this development, we cannot continue with the old medication. Instead, my mother will undergo combination Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy cycle every 3 weeks. This treatment costs PhP300,000 (USD 6000) every cycle. Because of our already depleted funds, we are unable to shoulder this amount.

She has to start with her treatment by October 8; but if we are unable to raise the funds, we may not be able to complete the initial 4 cycles before the next assessment. If not completed, it will render the treatment unviable as the growth might develop an immunity.

We are urgently asking for your help in the treatment for my Nanay Marilou. We want to be with her for a long time especially now that she has a 2-month old granddaughter by my older sister. Thank you very much!
