In 2013, my sister Myline was diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer. She has undergone 8 sessions of chemotheraphy and and a series of radiation theraphy. We thought that she is already cancer-free. However, just last July, after a series of medical tests, we found out that her cancer has recurred and is now at stage 4.
Her doctor advised her to undergo six sessions of chemotheraphy every 21 days. Her treatment includes 4 vials of gemcitabine, 1 box solerix, 1 ampoule nasea, 1 vial paclitaxel, 3 vials ambigrast, and 1 vial aloxi). She was devastated because of this; however, she remained strong in her faith and is now battling the big C, once again. She is a public school teacher from the Philippines. She has not raised her own family because she has devoted her life to teaching and to her students. And even if she is quite weak these days due to the treatment, her only consolation is the hope of being able to go back to school and teach her students again. People who know her loved her because of her kindness and generosity towards others. She would help other people even if it is already beyond her means, she would always exert that extra effort or go the extra mile just to assist people who are in need.
I have never done a fund campaign before but one of her friends convinced me to do so in order to raise enough money for her medical needs. The chemo drugs alone would cost her $1,900 aside from other medicines that she needs to take before and after each chemo session. Her take home pay of $500 a month cannot sustain all her medical needs. She has taken loans and her family and friends have helped raised raised enough for the first and second chemo sessions.
She started her chemo session last August 2018. It was supposed to be a six-session chemotherapy, however, after the third session it was found out through a CT scan that the cancer cells have not responded and in fact had a slight growth. Because of this, her doctor advised a new treatment protocol. Again after the third chemo session last December, another growth was discover on her colon. She is now undergoing her third treatment protocol and is already in her 8th chemo session.
AGAIN, we are appealing to everybody ha has a kind and generous heart to help us save and prolong Teacher Myline's life. A life that is free from cancer.
Any financial help that you can share with her will truly help her in her battle against breast cancer and prolong her life. It will also give her more reasons to continue to fight for her life since she will know that there are people who are willing to help her win the battle.
Thank you so much for taking part in this project.
