Check In HotPot

Check In HotPot is the brainchild of my very good friend Natty.  He is a Thai man who is looking to build his business in Chiang Mai, the northern capital city of Thailand.  Natty is a hair-dresser but due to ongoing problems with RSI in his hands, and increasingly bad reactions to the chemicals used in hair styling, he can no longer work there full time and his income is falling below what it takes to live.  

Natty is in the process of changing careers into the hospitality industry.  Outside his bosses shop he has rented some space and started a small evening cafe style business to sell Hot Pot.  If you are not sure what a hot pot is, here is a link for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_pot.

This has been quite popular amongst the locals who say his soup is the best tasting they have had (and I can confirm it is). But the shop is quite small and in a local street there is limited passing traffic and not a lot of chance of growing the business so Natty is fundraising to finace a move and expansion.

Natty's ambition is to relocate his small but concept-proven business to a higher traffic area and upgrade the size and presentation of the shop.  He is quite artistic and has a proven concept of outdoor dining (Chiang Mai is still in the mid 20 degrees Celcius in the evenings).  Just like his concept shop, the new larger shop will have tables surrounded by small trees, bushes and a variety of flowering plants.  With the purchase of a LED projector, the current TV will be projected onto a large screen and playing music videos or other entertainment as background.  

Natty currently employs 1 part time waiting staff and 1 kitchen hand but a relocation is expected to at least double that number.  He wants to provide employment for more people who have struggled like himself.  

This funding will be used to pay the ingoing bond/security deposit on a larger place in a busy evening dining area of Chiang Mai city.  It will also purchase additional tables and chairs, crockery, cutlery, and table cooking stoves, plants and other decorations, an LCD projector, and other sundry items, plus a small amount will be used for marketing.
