Cheap Communicative device for disabled

Myself Suriya Ayyanarappan

            I am a B.tech & MBA graduate from Puducherry, India. And i am a volunteer, helping people with multiple disability for the past two years. I had been with them and found that they have difficulty not only in physical but also in communicating with others. They dont have any personal entertainment as we are open to web anytime anywhere. So i gathered a group of graduates and developed a prototype of tablet device in which, the device can make other people understand what the communicatively disabled people willing to say or express. The device can be a communicative, entertaining and educative medium for the people with multiple disablity as this device is planned to manufacture at a price of $50. So that everyone can afford to buy one for them.

I had spent what i had as savings and got some funds from my father for the prototype. I want this tablet device to be delivered throught the world, so that everyone can be benifited. We had tested this tablet device at satya special school, puducherry, India. The feedbacks were really good.

We need FUND for the following reason

• • Developing a new way of communication system (i.e.) Tablet device for the disabled.
  • Making the device affordable to everyone by manufacturing it at an affordable cost under Rs. 3000 (INR) or $50.
  • Purchasing machinery for manufacture it under low cost and provide after sales service through courier system.
  • The Tablet device must be wear/tear proof and water proof.Making the device available in most languages like English, French, Hindi and Tamil etc, according to user's requirements
  • A complete research and survey done on the disabled people, to make the Tablet device a disabled friendly.
  • Develop and Manufacture Tablet Device and Apps based on the research/survey.
  • Developing a new OPERATING SYSTEM for the Tablet device, in which the customized applications developed by us can only, be installed.  
  • The Tablet device must be custom made only for disabled, in order to avoid the usage by other normal people such as his/her brother or sister.
  • The User Interface of the Tablet device will have functions and programs, which will keep the user, interactive to the device and should have maximum Standby time.
  • To develop a new way of Communicating Teaching method for the disabled, which will make them to use the device in a very effective manner and utilize all the functionalities of the Touch Interface, to communicate or express their thoughts with others.
  • Develop apps which can be customized for every individual user, and also based upon on their parents or user’s requirements.
  • During the device development, best Quality Standards will be achieved by continuous research and development to get the best Output results to the users.
  • Install required apps developed for their communication, Entertainment and education.
