On Thursday 24th of July, I competed for Team Scotland in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games in the sport of judo and won a silver medal! I am absolutely delighted with this result and feel so proud to have been part of such a successful Games for Scotland. The judo team actually broke the record for the most successful Scottish sport at a Commonwealth Games winning 13/14 medals and I feel so happy to have contributed to this! I had four fights during the day beating the top seed of the competition on my way through to the final. The atmosphere was amazing and the support was fantastic! This has definately been the highlight of my career to date and I am looking forward to my next big challenge - qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio!

After such a successful Commonwealth Games, my attention now turns to the Rio Olympics. To qualify for this event, I must be ranked in the top 16 in the World which means a lot of hard work, dedication and travelling to as many competitions as I can to collect points to allow me to qualify. I believe that if I can qualify for Rio there is no reason why I cannot come away with a medal, so I need your help and support to allow me to fund as many competitions as I can to give me the best possible chance of qualifying. As a self funded athlete I have to plan out my competition calendar carefully to make sure I can fund the events but I am hoping this campaign will help me get to more competitions!! Any donation you could make to my cause would be greatly appreciated and help me move closer to my dream of competing in Rio!

My name is Stephanie Inglis, aged 25, and I am from Inverness. After finishing school at 17 I made the move down to the central belt of Scotland and now live in Dunfermline. I currently train full time at the Scottish National Training Centre in Ratho, Edinburgh where I train 6 days a week. I am on both Scottish and British Senior squads and, as previously stated above, represented Scotland in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games where I won silver. Over the past couple of years I have been gaining more and more international success winning medals in European and World Cups including Russia, Finland, Bosnia, Mauritius and Samoa. Alongside my training, I have gained a Masters in Management and I am currently studying an Msc in International Business at Heriot Watt University. I also do some coaching and work with Champions in Schools and Dame Kelly Holmes which are very similar and all try to inspire children to participate in sport and be the best they can be.   I have sat down with my coaches and carefully planned out the rest of my competition calendar for this year, choosing events that would be most benefical to me, and help me gain those needed ranking points. This includes self funding World Cups, Grand Prix's and Grand Slams in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Abu Dhabi, Australia and Mauritius. Judo does not come cheap so I ask you for your help!! Any donation big or small will help me move one step closer to qualifying so if you can spare a little please do! Also if you could share or tell your friends about my campaign if you think they would be interested in helping me that would be great!! All money raised shall go towards my Rio campaign and will help with flights, accommodation and competition entry.  Thank you kindly for taking the time to read my campaign.
