Charlie’s 130km Challenge

In late July 2013, I will be heading out to the glacier-topped scenery of northern Norway on a three week expedition with British Exploring (a registered charity).  The trip will involve a lot of glacier travel and rock climbing, but also the learning of some invaluable skills for life such as first aid, radio communications and advanced orienteering. Hopefully, the trip will take me out of my comfort zone (but in a good way!) and enable me to meet new people as well helping myself to develop personally.

Such an expedition will be very rewarding, but inevitably there is a substantial cost to go with it – and that is why I need to fundraise.

In order to do so, I have set myself a triathlon-style challenge of 130km over the course of March 2013. The challenge will involve cycling 87km from London to Brighton, swimming 22km (broken down into 4 sessions of 5.5km) and running 21km in the form of a half-marathon. 

Many of my friends and family have already chosen to sponsor me, but I would really appreciate  any further sponsorship in helping to fundraise for my expedition, however minimal, as each pound is one step closer to my fundraising goal of £1,200.
