Dear benefactors, sponsors, everyone who care about unhappy fate in life,

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Hanoi capital, there is a place where people who live quietly but deeply are still gnawing against difficulties, with illness, where life and death are in a snap, and a thin line. That is "Dialysis Lane" at the opposite of Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam.

We created this charity group called "NNK CHARITY" with the aim of connecting the community and hemodialysis patients with difficult circumstances, to take care of, share the pain of illness, to continue belief for patients.

From the desire to contribute a small part to the hard life of the unfortunate lives, we, the "NNK CHARITY" group are giving a hand to implement this program. Looking forward to the support of benefactors, though big or small, are great motivations for the program.

The “Dialysis Lane” has about 50 rooms that are damp, sloppy, narrow. Each room is only about 8 m2 for 2 people, this is the roof of the patients, every hour of every day fighting against kidney disease. The patients said that, although they knew the rooms were expensive, they could not rent other places because they were near the hospital in case of emergency.

Most patients here suffer from severe renal failure, must continuously filter blood to prolong life. Every 3 days running dialysis once, lack of treatment then health is depleted, low blood pressure, all weak at the knees. Hemodialysis people called the most senior in the “Dialysis Lane” also nearly had 20-year period. In addition, there are also 80-year-olds, or young people who are only 24, 25 years old and have graduated from colleges and universities. They all have to work more jobs to cover life and buy medicine. Healthy people can sell water, shine shoes, run motorbike service,…, weak people choose lighter jobs.

There are more than 130 patients in this “Dialysis Lane”, only 19 people have retirement pension regimes, the remaining patients, most of them work in agriculture, families are poor. On average, hemodialysis patients spend 100-150 million VND a year, even more. That is really a burden for all patients.

Most patients are seriously ill people who have lost 81% of their health, and must continually filter their blood to maintain life. In addition to the 20 patients with support of the family members, the rest of them rely on each other to live, care and support each other, healthy people support weak people like a family. In this lane, there are many ages, the youngest is only 20 years old, the oldest is the one who is over 80 years old, the new one has been in the lane for 2 years, and also have patients lived here more than 10 years. During more than 20 past years, the “Dialysis Lane” has witnessed many layers of people coming and going, people only know how to encourage each other try to live every day, try that day.

In this “Dialysis Lane”, the majority of patients are supported by the state, then the sponsors help, but many people are exhausted, unable to maintain the treatment. They do all kinds of things from shoe polish, dish washing, motorcycle taxi, porter, ice tea sale, ... to get more money to cover daily expenses.

For those who live in the “Dialysis Lane”, the drug is the daily food, which is their inseparable thing. Although, each person has a different background, coming from many regions but they live together as blood relatives, sharing each piece of rice and cloth.

With this short article, we cannot tell all the difficulties of many hemodialysis patients. We really hope everyone who read this article to join hands to save these fragile destiny, and give them warmth and love to cope with the disease.

Any donations from you are extremely valuable, expressing sympathy to share the difficulties of hemodialysis patients, helping them reduce difficulties and deadlock in short life, and help them have more motivation to live, to continue fighting the disease, and continue to hope.

Depending on the amount of donations, we will plan for the most reasonable support. If the amount of donations is large enough, we want to build a free, clean, safe social housing area, giving as much as possible dialysis patients living peacefully to cure.

On behalf of dialysis patients, our group "NNK CHARITY" would like to send to benefactors, sponsors the most sincere thanks.
